David Friedman, president of marketing for Sears Holdings Corp., will leave the company in January to “pursue other opportunities,” according to a Reuters story. Friedman has held the post slightly more than a year.

The company has experienced steady turnover in its senior marketing management ranks during the tenure of chairman Edward Lampert. In August, it appointed Monica Woo, formerly with FreshDirect, as vice president and chief marketing officer of Sears, a position that had been vacant since 2010. In September, Mark Snyder, chief marketing officer for Kmart, departed after a three-year stint. At the same time, Terry Brophey, vice president of integrated marketing communications for Kmart, left the discounter.

Citing an internal memo, the Reuters report stated that Friedman will be replaced by Imran Jooma, who will head financial services, pricing and Sears online as well as corporate marketing. Friedman has reportedly agreed to stay through the holiday season to assist the transition.
