ROGERS, Ark. – Walmart Data Ventures is expanding its Scintilla platform with new artificial intelligence and data capabilities to give suppliers a more integrated view of their Walmart business and help them move more quickly from insights to action.
At Inspire 2026, Walmart Data Ventures’ annual supplier event, which brought together more than 2,000 suppliers and Walmart merchants, the retailer outlined the next phase of Scintilla.
Scintilla is evolving into what Walmart calls a commerce intelligence platform, combining first-party data with AI-powered tools to help suppliers identify performance drivers, spot shifts in customer behavior and surface business opportunities.
Beginning next year, Scintilla will provide brands operating across Walmart’s first-party and Marketplace models with a more comprehensive view of their Walmart.com business. The platform will consolidate insights from a brand’s broader assortment into one place.

Walmart is also expanding Scintilla Boards, which launched in July to bring together customer, business performance, and other insights. Customizable boards are planned to give users more flexibility to organize and monitor the metrics most relevant to their businesses.
AI will play an increasingly important role on the platform. Walmart said that more personalized experiences and custom alerts will proactively surface changes and opportunities, while Marty for Scintilla will evolve to include conversational AI grounded in Walmart’s first-party data. The technology is intended to help suppliers investigate business questions and build custom dashboards.
Scintilla is also being developed to connect insights more directly to actions such as replenishing inventory, launching media campaigns, and addressing in-store execution.
Scintilla Insights Activation already integrates the platform with Walmart Connect, enabling suppliers to use business insights to inform media campaigns. Walmart said Scintilla In-Store will similarly use AI-powered recommendations to help supplier field representatives identify and address opportunities in stores.
The company said its broader goal is to create a more connected path from visibility and intelligence to action for Walmart and its suppliers.
