Walmart promotes merchandising executives

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart has named five executives to senior vice president positions within its merchandising organization.

Gary Severson has been named senior vice president and general merchandise manager for hardlines. He had previously served as senior vice president and general merchandise manager for entertainment, where he was credited with building solid relationships within the entertainment industry.

Succeeding Severson as senior vice president and general merchandise manager for entertainment is Seong Ohm, who had been senior vice president for home, hardlines and entertainment at Walmart’s Global Merchandising Center (GMC).

Filling Ohm’s old post is Karen Stuckey, who has been named senior vice president of home, hardlines and entertainment at GMC. Her past experience includes serving as president of Hanes Casual Wear at Sara Lee Corp.

Michelle Gloeckler has been named senior vice president and general merchandise manager for home. Gloeckler, who joined Walmart as vice president in charge of candy and impulse products, also has supplier experience, having spent 21 years at Hershey Co. She most recently served as senior vice president of merchandise execution.

Matt Kistler has succeeded Gloeckler as senior vice president of merchandise execution. He was previously senior vice president of marketing for Walmart.
