AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market Inc. announced on Thursday a name and a president for its value store division, which plans to open its first stores next year.

Whole Foods Market Inc. announced on Thursday a name and a president for its value store division, which plans to open its first stores next year.

The outlets, which will operate under the 365 by Whole Foods Market banner, will be more streamlined and value focused than current Whole Foods stores, and promise to offer convenience and everyday-low prices on natural and organic products that meet the company’s industry-leading quality standards.

Jeff Turnas has been tapped to serve as president of the 365 by Whole Foods Market division, and will be based at the company’s headquarters here. Turnas, who most recently served as president of Whole Foods’ U.K. region, has spent 20 years with the company, and has held leadership positions on both the product and operations fronts.

"We are excited to introduce 365 by Whole Foods Market to bring healthy foods to even more communities with a fresh, quality-meets-value shopping experience that’s fun and convenient," Turnas said. "A modern, streamlined design with innovative technology and a carefully curated product mix will offer an efficient and rewarding way to grocery shop."

Turnas described the new development as an effort to extend the company’s offerings to a broader audience in a way that complements the existing Whole Foods Market brand.
