SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Hy-Vee Inc. debuted the latest version of its supermarket concept here last month with the grand opening of a 93,402-square-foot store.

The new outlet has extensive meal and dining options, including a pub with an outdoor patio; an open Food Hall that features Hy-Vee’s new breakfast menu; Mealtime offerings; Mia Italian; Hy-Chi Asian food; Nori Sushi; Market Grille Express; Long Island Deli; and a Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee.

Hy-Vee stays true to its goal of “meeting customer and employee needs” by including apparel and shoe departments that let shoppers take care of several shopping missions with one stop. Hy-Vee partnered with DSW to carry popular styles of shoes while allowing shoppers to use their DSW rewards points, and it also offers Gen Z apparel brands like Fresh Clothing. There is also a Johnson Fitness, an Eyewear kiosk, and a beauty department with an aesthetician on site. “Our goal is to make our customers’ lives easier, happier and healthier,” store director Brad Auge says. “By including departments that meet the needs of families, we make our community stronger.”

Health and wellness, another signature business at Hy-Vee, is represented with a department that includes products from Mark Wahlberg’s Performance Inspired brand and a dietitian on staff to help customers with nutrition advice. “We make sure to not just provide the products people need, but also to make our store a place where people feel confident in their purchasing decisions,” store manager John Blocker says.
